TALISSMAN HIGHLIGHTS PROGRESS IN LITHIUM-SULFUR BATTERY RESEARCH AT AABC EUROPE
On May 18–21, 2026, TALISSMAN was represented at AABC Europe in Mainz, Germany, one of the key international meeting points for the advanced battery community, bringing together experts from academic research, applied science and industry to discuss the future of battery technologies.
During the event, Holger Althues had the opportunity to present recent progress on the use of solid-solid sulfur conversion in lithium-sulfur batteries. This topic is closely connected to the early achievements of the TALISSMAN project and its ambitious plans to develop safe, sustainable, high-performance and cost-effective Gen5 lithium-sulfur battery technologies for aerospace and electromobility applications.
The conference provided an excellent opportunity to exchange knowledge with international battery experts and explore current challenges around battery performance, ageing, safety, advanced analytics and lifetime optimisation. These discussions are highly relevant to TALISSMAN’s mission, as the project aims to advance next-generation battery solutions through scientific excellence, sustainability and industrial relevance.
Participation in AABC Europe reinforces TALISSMAN’s commitment to contributing to Europe’s battery innovation ecosystem and supporting the development of next-generation energy storage technologies that can help drive cleaner, safer and more sustainable mobility.
