
THE TALISSMAN PROJECT CELEBRATES ITS KICK OFF MEETING IN SAN SEBASTIAN, SPAIN
San Sebastián, Spain – The European-funded TALISSMAN project, aimed at advancing lithium–sulfur battery technologies for sustainable mobility, was officially launched with a two-day kick-off meeting hosted by CIDETEC Energy Storage on 1st and 2nd July 2025. The event brought together all project partners, marking the start of a collaborative effort to develop next-generation battery solutions for aerospace and electromobility.
The meeting began with a warm welcome from the host organisation, followed by a round of partner introductions and a presentation by the European Commission’s Project Officer outlining the policy context of Horizon Europe. The agenda featured a comprehensive overview of the technical activities planned, covering topics such as lithium metal anode design, electrolyte and separator development, cathode innovations, prototype manufacturing, and sustainability criteria. Special attention was given to communication, exploitation, and strategic planning for the first six months of implementation.

In addition to the technical sessions, attendees participated in a visit to CIDETEC’s research facilities and a networking activity to facilitate the exchange of fruitful discussions. The event concluded with a detailed session on short-term objectives and coordination among partners.
